At the Esri R&D Center Zurich, we are looking for a dedicated product engineer who will help us to grow and foster the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript for 3D workflows. Our SDK empowers web developers around the globe to build compelling mapping applications.

Tasks

• Drive the design and user experience of our Maps SDK for 3D to add new powerful functionality and enhance the overall developer experience
• Gather and analyze requirements to ensure the SDK meets the needs of developers, stakeholders, and end users
• Test the usability and functionality of the SDK and recommend improvements
• Write comprehensive documentation, code samples, and release notes to assist developers in effectively utilizing the SDK
• Stay updated with industry trends, providing insights and suggestions for future improvements in 3D web mapping
• Educate the development team on SDK best practices and potential use cases in various industries

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, geoinformatics, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in web development with a focus on JavaScript
• Proven experience in driving the design and usability of developer-focused products or SDKs
• Knowledge of popular web development frameworks (such as React, Angular)
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Recommended Qualifications

• Understanding of 3D web mapping concepts
• Experience with 3D mapping libraries and frameworks (such as ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, Three.js, CesiumJS, Mapbox GL JS, OpenLayers, and others)
• Familiarity with geospatial data formats and tools
• Experience in writing technical documentation and creating code samples
