Laboratory Technician (F/M, 80-100 %)
Your mission :
The Institute of Physics (IPHYS) at EPFL seeks a laboratory technician who will assist researchers in experimental work and be responsible for lab management tasks. While working mainly for the EPFL Living Patterns Laboratory (LPL), the candidate will be integrated in the pool of lab technicians at IPHYS, which supports scientists in several biophysics labs.

The aim of the EPFL Living Patterns Laboratory (LPL), a Swiss research laboratory founded and directed by Professor Guillermina Ramirez-San Juan, is to discover the underlying principles of pattern formation in living organisms.
- Assist scientists with molecular biology and fluorescence microscopy.
- Contribute to the development of culturing and imaging conditions as well as molecular tools (e.g. RNAi, CRISPR) to work with non-conventional model organisms.
- Work independently to maintain cultures of lab organisms.
- Manage long-term storage and catalogue of lab organisms.
- Coordinate ordering of lab supplies
- Monitor the compliance of lab safety protocols.
- Degree in cell or Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Expertise in molecular biology.
- Biochemistry experience, particularly protein purification.
- English written and spoken.
- Great communication skills.
- Culturing techniques and molecular tools for non-conventional model organisms
- Fluorescence microscopy
- A dynamic interdisciplinary, international and collaborative working community
- A modern working invironment, based at the EPFL Campus in Ecublens/Lausanne.
